Due to high demand a second Emergency Vehile Operations Course - EVOC has been scheduled.
Last year, in order to better serve our community, Northeast Fire & EMS raised its level of emergency medical care from a daytime staffed, nighttime volunteer service, to an around-the-clock staffed paramedic service. Paramedic level service is the highest level of pre-hospital care available. Along with this higher level of care, we are offering a way to help reduce your out-of-pocket emergency ambulance costs. We are offering a membership subscription called Northeast Emergency Care that will help you pay less for your emergency ambulance expenses. Our Northeast Emergency Care plan is very comparable to a LifeCare plan, which has been offered to our community in the past. LifeCare will no longer be accepted once your current subscription expires. An informational flyer will be mailed out to the residents of our community explaining the costs and savings if you choose to subscribe. More information is available in the flyer below or by calling our Grabill Fire Station at 260-627-5133.
Christmas party will be at Cedar Creek Golf course on Jan. 19th. Please sign up at at one of the stations.
All officers need to have your VHF radio's at your station for programing by the Dec. 30th. If any member has a HT1000 or HT1250 please get with the fire chief and see if you can get it prgrammed as well.
New and Old Officers are encouraged to attend this Meeting. Sunday December 16, 2012 at 1830hrs.
Recently we had a run with M145 crew saving a life!! The crew responded quickly to the scene and with a paramedic assessment found the patient was having an acute myocardial infraction. The 12-lead performed and transmitted to the emergency department. The ED MD alerted the cath lab, and they were waiting on them!! Just another reason why an EMS Paramedic service is so important for our community.
Paramedic skills will be October 23rd AM & PM at B140. New Havens will October 19th if you can not make ours.
BLS & Advance will be November 3rd starting at 9am. New Havens will be on October 27th if you can not make ours.
Per the MD this is mandatory for ALL EMS personnel.
