Santa and his elves will be making there delivery this day if you have not signed up for the home visit do so. Kids love to have them visit. Elves wanting to help Santa make the delivery the sign up is at the Grabill Station.
At 5:50am the paid crew made a response to the Cedars for a fire alarm. Upon arrival the crew was met by staff and informed there was smoke in the laundry room. E-172 crew checked the laundry room which had a light haze of smoke. On further investigation found the belt had burned off of the electric motor on the washer. Called it a response only for Engine 172.

Once again Halloween is here and we will have our party Saturday at the station. Kathy will be making her Chili and Hot dogs for every one to enjoy. Bring your family and freinds and enjoy the night with us. We will be having the hayride around town again the wagon will be provided by Tyler. Members bring a bag of candy for the kids.
Engine 241 and 142 with tanker 243 responded to a fire in Dekalb County. We assisted Concord, Spencerville, Butler, Edgerton, Hicksville and Jackson. The fire was in the attic of a two story abandon house on Co Rd 56 east of Co Rd 75. Units made entry to the upstairs performed Ovehaul to get to the seat of the fire. The state was called to investigate the fire.
Attention all members: We will be doing Fire Prevention programs throughout the month of October. Check the web site calender for times and dates. Information sheets are also posted at all three stations.
Another year for the Grabill Country Fair. We will have a sign up sheet on the web and also at base 140. Sign up early get a good time to work. See you there, work safe.
We will be setting up the booth for the Grabill Country Fair. We need all the help we can get for this progect please save this day for the set up.
We will be cleaning the streets for Grabill days. Start at 1700 hours we will provide food. Need all the help we can get.
Farm safety class on STRD 101 contact DC-242 if you would like to participate. For those not attending R-178, E-245, E241, and T-147 will be out of there station training at this event.
Base 140 and 240 will go to Auburn for fire training and base 170 will go to base 170 for scba training

The department recieved 9 bids for the truck. The committee will be taking one of each bid and go through the wording and see what the differences are. Then we will meet with each salesman to make sure the exceptions on the bid are listed. Making sure they are on the up and up. We hope to have the bid finalized by the 14 of september.
