On Saturday afternoon Northeast Fire responded to a reported structure fire in Leo on State Road 1. The first unit on the scene encountered a heavy smoke condition coming from the structure and coded it a "working fire". Command requested an area tanker response and additional mutual aid companies be added to the call. State Road 1 was shut down for tanker shuttle operations and firefighter safety. The fire was attacked from both State Road 1 and Manning Street. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the FAST team and Northeast Fire. Northeast Fire thanks the following departments and agencies for their assistance: Woodburn Fire, St. Joseph Township Fire, Huntertown Fire, New Haven Fire, Jackson Township Fire, Southeast Fire, Allen County Police, the Town of Leo-Cedarville and the FAST team.
